Our Toyota reconditioned exchange engines are built according to the following:
Engine dismantle
All engines are completely dismantled and inspected by two staff members, all components that are to be replaced are disregarded along with another component that does not meet our requirements. The balance is put through a high pressure spray wash, acid tanked, rinsed and respected. Components such as sumps, timing covers, oil cooler housings etc are sandblasted, hand washed and repainted.
Cylinder head
All cylinder heads are completely dismantled and inspected, placed in a high pressure spray washer then chemically cleaned, hardest tested, machined to original factory specification, including cylinder head face, valve seat, valve guide, camshaft linish. Cam tunnel alignment is checked. Cylinder heads are reassembled with new valves, valve are reset at this stage. New cylinder heads are available as an upgrade if requested.
Cylinder block
All cylinder blocks are high pressure spray washed and chemically cleaned. Cylinder bores are machined to first over size, new pistons are fitted, this is extremely important to prevent oil usage. Balance shaft bearings are replaced.
The main bearing caps and the crankshaft tunnel are checked for alignment. If outside of standard specifications the caps and block are machined line bored and then line honed. Piston height is set and appropriate head gasket fitted, this will insure correct compression ratio is achieved.
Crankshaft
Crankshaft journals are measured and if within standard specification they are linished. If the journals are outside standard specification they are machined to first under size. Front and rear seal surfaces are machined to prevent damage to new seal preventing oil leaks.
Connecting rods
Connecting rods are fitted with new little end bushes. Connecting rod big ends are resized to factory specification. Connecting rod alignment is checked. The option of having internal parts balanced to performance specifications is available. Pistons, piston rings, harmonic balancer and bolt, piston pins, crankshaft and connecting rods are balanced.
Components replaced
All engines are reconditioned to Australian standard which includes the replacement of the following components pistons, piston rings, connecting rod bearings, main bearing, little end bushes, balance shaft bearings, cylinder head gasket, cylinder heads bolts, cylinder head valves, all genuine Toyota seals, gaskets including balance of full gasket required to install engine, timing belt, idler and pivot, genuine hydraulic tensioner and Japanese water pump.
Engine assembly
All engines are assembled in our new dust free engine assembly room by owner manager Peter, who is the person you will talk to on the phone and is personal responsible for the product supplied.
Warranty
All engines are supplied with an Australia wide parts and labour warranty for 12 months or 20,000 km’s (whichever comes first). Warranty booklet, registration form and service schedule are provided.
